When was the last time you got hurt, sprained an ankle, broke a bone, or needed stitches? When was the last time you were injured that you had to miss work, or you needed to have your duties lightened temporarily? More than likely, it’s been awhile.
Now let’s imagine you have a difficult and physically demanding job that puts you near dangerous environments in all kinds of weather. Maybe you work near heavy machinery or moving equipment and vehicles? Maybe you work outdoors in the heat, cold and rain? That makes it more likely to get injured, doesn’t it?
Now think of 99 of your friends, family, and co-workers? In the same situation, how long since you and 99 others have been injured or sick enough to take time off from work?
Has it been a week? A month? A year?
How about over two and a half years [1]?
That is what Wolf Construction just accomplished.
Wolf’s Safety Team is very proud to announce that we have recently surpassed 500,000 man hours without an OSHA recordable incident [2].
Although 500,000 is not an impossible number for a company to achieve, it is indeed a rare accomplishment, especially considering the work Wolf does day in and day out. For such an achievement, it takes a lot of dedication and professionalism from many people, and Wolf employs the right people who take safety on the job site seriously. The Safety Culture of Wolf is ingrained in each person. We take responsibility to take care of each other, and do things the correct way, safely.
While many companies preach the importance of safety, Wolf is backing it up with numbers. Earlier this year, Wolf was recognized by Westar Energy for our efforts in helping them reach zero incidents in their power plant properties for 2016. Besides this recognition and the milestone of 500k safe man hours, we also have an industry leading low Incident, DART, and EMR Rates.
As impressive as these numbers are, it just underlines our dedication to our clients and our own people’s safety. We are committed to keeping everyone safe, above all else.
